Take two and call me in the morning UPDATE

Okay, yesterday I thought I was getting sick and today I am sick. This stupid cough won't go away but now I am also losing my voice! Laryngitis, I'm sure, I swear I get laryngitis at least once a year. I went over to my aunt's house earlier and took some kids cough syrup...why does cough syrup have to taste so nasty? Anyway, after about half an hour I felt buzzed, imagine that feeling buzzed from children's cough syrup. The worst part was that I didn't feel the cough syrup helped any. So what do I do now? What else can I take?
