The grammar police

I can't stand bad grammar. It really is a pet peeve of mine, and I often correct people when they say such things as "more better", "can you itch my arm/nose/back/whatever", and the ever so popular misuse of "your and you're" -_- It honestly drives me nuts. I just saw a facebook status update that propted this post, it reads:

"I flee SF from some rain and encounter SD in pouring raining conditions..... SERIOUSLY!!!!!?!?!?"

No really, seriously?!? What do you mean you flee? ...oh you left already, so you mean you fled? The next part is just horrible, I can't even comment. "in pouring raining conditions" ehhh this is again awkward but the use of -ing after rain is unnecessary. Let's see if I can't make this statement "more better."

"I fled from rain in SF and now encounter pouring rain in SD......SERIOUSLY!?" This is definitely less awkward wouldn't you agree?

In fact to help the world speak "more better" The Oatmeal, a comics based website, has broken down some simple grammar rules. Enjoy.
