I have decided this year to cross off yet another item from my bucket list. Bucket list item #163 - cook a Thanksgiving meal from scratch - will hopefully meet its graphite/ink maker in less than a week! This is a pretty large undertaking which, when armed with my knife and apron shall be conquered. I have already written the menu, recipes have been printed, all that is left for me to do is buy the groceries (fun) and wait for my shining moment on Thursday. The meal is going to delicious!
Ha! I wish I were so confident in my cooking abilities. If it were only so easy! I'm so stressed right now, I don't know how I will ever manage. I literally want to cook everything from scratch, and want to limit the amount of boxed/can items I use. As cooking this way takes significantly longer than the American hurry up and watch football method, I will need to organize and see what recipes I can prep/make ahead of time. Unfortunately I don't have the luxury of the afternoon as we tend to eat our Thanksgiving meal around 1-2 pm because in my household football rules. That and my grandpa says it wasn't likely the pilgrims ate at night, so we shouldn't either. Oy vey!

Hey Girl!
ReplyDeleteLove the outline of your blog. I couldn't find that post earlier on twitter (I think it was a broken link).
That is so awesome that you cooked your own Thanksgiving meal. My husband cooks the turkey, but I do everything else, and I know how much time it takes! It's a big deal! Congrats on crossing off another item.
Have you shared your items here. You could cross them off and let all of us know your progress. Interesting stuff!

Thanks for the comment Rachel :) Thanksgiving was so stressful, and I now have a new appreciation for boxed and canned goods. I don't think I ever actually posted my bucket list items, but I will soon. I think that if I involve others in my quest to complete my list, I may actually get more items crossed off.
